A peak adventure awaits!

And the peak could not be more magnificent. Climb the highest mountain in the Alps. Under the expert guidance of experienced Mont Blanc mountain guide Isabelle Santoire and her team of professionals. Your luxury base camp: an exclusive chalet in Chamonix. You will also have the chance to get to know a very special person on this tour – mountaineering legend Nirmal "Nims" Purja. A remarkable individual who has ascended more than 116,000 metres in the course of his climbing career. In 2019, the former Nepalese elite soldier succeeded in climbing all fourteen of the world’s “eight-thousanders” in a new record time of only 6 months and 6 days. This feat is all the more astonishing when you consider that most people need to spend several weeks recovering after reaching the summit of an eight-thousander. But Nirmal Purja is extraordinary in many respects. "I don’t really come to life until I'm up on an eight-thousander," says the exceptional athlete. Even if Mont Blanc is nothing more than a stroll in the park for this top-class alpinist at “only” 4,810 m, you will get more than enough opportunities to get some valuable tips to help you with your own mountaineering ambitions. The focus here will not be on breaking records, but rather on improving your skills and enjoying the fascinating world of mountaineering. And where better than on the famous "white mountain" on the border between Italy and France.

France

Mont Blanc

Mont Blanc: King of the Alps. 8 August 1786. Jacques Balmat and Michel-Gabriel Paccard set out from Chamonix to attempt the first ascent of Mont Blanc. And they were successful too. Since then, numerous alpinists have followed in the footsteps of this French duo. The 4,810-metre-high mountain lies on the border between France and Italy. Depending on whether you consider the Russian peak Elbrus (5,642 m) in the Caucasus Mountains to be part of Europe or Asia, Mont Blanc qualifies as the highest mountain in Europe, or at least in the Alps and in the EU. There are now more than 100 possible routes to the summit. The ascent of Mont Blanc is not only challenging because of the altitude. In addition to top physical condition, technical knowledge is also a basic requirement for the tour with Isabelle Santoire and Nims Purja – for example, experience of using crampons.

Chalet l'Orignal

Your chalet in Chamonix? Very charming! The famous French ski resort of Chamonix is located to the north of Mont Blanc and is the traditional starting point for Mont Blanc ascents. The first Winter Olympics took place here in 1924. The difference between your mountain adventure and an expedition to Mount Everest will not just be a matter of altitude, but also of the level of luxury of the base camp. You will stay in a stylish chalet in the centre of Chamonix, with everything you could possibly need in terms of comfort. This means you will have the ideal environment to prepare for your alpine venture – and to relax and recover after conquering the summit.
