The scenery of South Africa and the mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho are among the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Especially if you want to conquer them with the Enduro. Who could be a better companion for such an adventure than Alfie Cox? After all, he is a nine-time winner of the Roof of Africa, the "mother of all difficult Enduro races" held here. Alfie is one of the most successful motorcyclists on the planet. He will show you the most exciting off-road trails of his native South Africa and some simply incredible tracks in Lesotho. Between majestic rocks, lush green meadows and the highest ski area in Africa (!) - you will spend an unforgettable week on the saddle and improve your Enduro skills under the guidance of Alfie Cox, the absolute champion.

Lesotho

The mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho is entirely landlocked by South Africa. A magnificent mix of forests, wide plains and breath-taking rock formations awaits you. Some trails will even lead us to a ski resort. At 3,050 meters, "Afriski" is the highest ski resort on the continent. For comparison: St. Anton in Arlberg is "only" 1,304 meters high. More than 80 percent of Lesotho's surface is over 1,800 meters above sea level. A unique mountain panorama, lush green meadows, characteristic red stones - and the howling of the Enduro at top speed. A paradise for motorsport fans.

Hotel

We will stay at the best hotels along the route and get excellent insight into the diversity of Lesotho. Here you can enjoy the comfort you would expect from a modern road trip. And the great feeling of being on the road with an experienced team of professionals. This makes adventure fun!

After your arrival at the airport in Durban, Alfie Cox will host a traditional "braai" barbecue at his home before you head to tasteful cottages for the night.

The first route will lead through the Hella Valley to the Sani Pass: on this day, around 250 kilometres will be driven to "warm up," 60 percent of the stretch on asphalt and 40 percent on gravel. The day's destination is the Afriski Resort at over 3,000 meters above sea level.

After visiting a diamond mine, we will drive to the village of Ha Lejone on a ridge above a bend in the Malibamant’so River. 175 kilometres later, we will arrive at the spectacular Katse Dam, the day's destination.

A full day in the saddle: a challenging 250 kilometres await you today, 80 percent of them on gravel. The route leaves Lesotho by way of the Matebeng Pass and ends late in the evening in Matatiele in South Africa.

After a sumptuous breakfast, we will head back to Lesotho via the legendary Ongeluks Nek Pass at an altitude of over 2,500 metres. In the afternoon, we will cross the border again at the Telle Bridge Border Post to move into our evening quarters in Rhodes, South Africa.

Off to the Tiffindell Ski Resort, the only year-round ski resort in South Africa. Further stops will be Naude's Neck Pass and Mount Fletcher. In the evening, we will return to Matatiele. Daily total: 200 kilometres, half on gravel, half on asphalt.

300 kilometres by bike to the day's destination in Cato Ridge near Durban.

Wake-up call is at 6 o'clock. We will enjoy breakfast at the Gwahumbe safari park. Later the day will end on the beach front of Umhlanga before we travel with packed bags to the airport of Durban in the afternoon. An unforgettable trip through the Enduro Eldorado of South Africa and Lesotho.
